Make it pretty.

I believe that great design is in the details. Design is more than just choosing colors, typefaces, shapes, and images. Good design works to present information in such a way as to support the information it presents. When I design anything, I'm constantly considering how the information will be presented and how it will function in varying media, whether it's web, print or multimedia. You can be sure that both aesthetics and functionality are equally considered in my designs.

Development

Make it big.

First, let me define "development." For me, development is bringing to life the design I have created by actually building the Web page or the ad through the use of various software. I specialize in front-end web development: HTML and CSS, as well as WordPress customization. PhotoShop, InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator are what I use to develop print advertisements, manuals, brochures, bumper stickers, etc.

Advertising

Make it sell.

What is the primary reaction we want from the target audience? I keep my theory simple and go back to the Advertising basics. There are three primary responses ads can trigger:

To feel, to experience an emotion.
To think, to understand, perhaps remember.
To take action, do something.

My advertising will always strive to do one or more of these three things depending on what my client wants.

Go big or go home.

About

A little about myself

A transplanted Oklahoman, I was raised in Montana. Music brought me to Oklahoma City University and Graphic Design brought me to the University of Oklahoma. Born and raised right-brained, I have always explored the creative, the imaginative, and the artistic. Hopeless at math; good with colors. Dad wanted me to go into accounting until, as helped with my homework, I proudly exclaimed that “2 + 2 equals Yellow!” I currently live in the center of the country, Norman, Oklahoma, with my husband and our fluffy cat, AC. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2009 with a Bachelors in Journalism & Advertising. Click here for my full resume.

I love what I do. Design, both print and web, is a passion. Brand development, technical writing, photography, typography, and layout are just a few more things that keep me busy. I love traveling, books, computers, typography, photography, good food and better wine. I'll try anything twice.
